Why Art Is So Important...

why art is important art tools
Ever since I was little, being creative has always been something I’ve enjoyed. I could sit drawing, painting and making things for hours. Over the years, a lot of things have changed, but the passion for art and creativity has never subsided. Sometimes I’m too busy with other things to have chance to sit and draw, paint or write, but I still love doing it. I never really thought about it too much until recently, but I was curious as to why I love art so much so I did some thinking and I’ve finally figured out why…

Why Do I Love Art?

For me, art is something I know I am quite good at, and that I can be proud of it. It’s also a huge stress reliever. Over the past few years, I’ve suffered quite badly with anxiety, depression and stress and I needed an escape. I can spend anything from two hours to around ten hours on one drawing or painting and concentrating on colours and shading just takes me to another place in my head. I don’t have to think about what’s going on and I can just enjoy being in the moment. It’s something I can do solely for me which is so important.

Art Work

Eventually, I will have to begin throwing work out to start making room for new paintings and drawings and they aren’t good enough to sell, so I’m posting them here as a way of being able to look back on them in the future!
