Jeffree Star Velour Liquid Lipstick

Jeffree Star Velour Liquid Lipstick Collection

First of all, apologies for the imperfect photo. I was hoping for a photo of all of my Jeffree Star Velour Liquid Lipsticks all full and brand new, however there was a little bit of shipping difficulty with a few of them so some have been used quite a lot before photography took place... However, now they're all together and I can complete this blog post I've been super excited to write! Check out what I think of these American cruelty-free liquid lipsticks below!

Jeffree Star Velour Liquid Lipstick Collection

I decided to purchase some Jeffree Star Velour Liquid Lipsticks after seeing quite a lot of impressive swatches and reviews over the internet. Once I saw the gorgeous shades too, I instantly fell in love and I knew I needed to try them. My collection includes Redrum, Scorpio, Androgyny, Unicorn Blood, Celebrity Skin, I'm Royalty and Prom Night as pictured in order below.

The packaging is really nice but a lot smaller than I anticipated. The lipsticks contain a doe-foot applicator which I may find myself replacing with a lip brush for a neater application as it can take a while to apply perfectly. A downside to these lipsticks is definitely the fragrance though. They don't have any added scents so have a rather vile scent but it's bearable once you get used to it - it smells a little bit like strong acrylic paint.

Swatches

In terms of the colour quality, these lipsticks are highly pigmented as you can see by the swatch above. These show in order; Celebrity Skin, Unicorn Blood, I'm Royalty, Prom Night, Redrum, Androgyny and Scorpio. The colour on every Jeffree Star lipstick I've purchased has been impressive and I've never been disappointed by them.

I'm fully aware that the application of these is rather messy (sorry guys!) but it takes a good 10-15 minutes to apply neatly with the doe-foot applicator so as a rough guide, I just threw them on quickly. They are in the same order as the swatches visible on my hand and each of these has only one coat applied! As you can see, you don't need much as a little goes a long way and layering up for the desired colour isn't necessary due to the high opacity, fab right?

Does it Wear Well?

It's important that I mention the longevity of the Jeffree Star Velour Liquid Lipsticks which is absolutely amazing. Whether eating, drinking or partying, they are incredibly long wearing and I find that I only have to top up once or twice over an extremely long period of time which is really impressive. With the lighter shades such as Celebrity Skin, more than once I've applied it at around 8pm for a night out, forgotten to take it off when arriving home and woken up with it still applied (not smudged either) which is crazy!

Overall, it's great quality and not much is needed to achieve the desired effect which is good considering the quite high price point for these lipsticks. I would definitely recommend Jeffree Star Velour Liquid Lipsticks to anybody and I always reach for one of the shades I own before looking at any other brand when applying my makeup in the morning. You can purchase them from the Jeffree Star website as well as Cocktail Cosmetics. Cocktail Cosmetics doesn't have a large amount of shades in stock very often which is a shame but if you live in the UK and are ordering more than one shade, it's worth ordering from there instead of the official website due to customs charges which can arise. Sometimes you can end up paying quite a large sum which stings your bank account! Don't forget, they're also vegan and cruelty-free which just tops it off!

  1. This brand has always been my favorite. I have a few off their shades, which I love most. Most long-lasting and comfortable lipsticks I ever used.Makeup lesson by makeup artist.
