17 Things I Want To Achieve in 2017

goals to achieve in 2017 flatlay
New Year seems to be a time where everybody decides to change and give things up. Sadly, no matter how motivational these resolutions can be, they are usually given up on less than a month into the year. I want to be able to add to my life and achieve quite a few things throughout 2017 so I'm writing them down to help me keep track! Below I have a list of 17 things I want to achieve in the next year and fingers crossed, I will be writing a positive round up post in a year to confirm I've done it!

Mental Health: Selective Eating Disorder

Selective Eating Disorder

Today's post is a little bit different to usual, but it's something which I have to deal with on a daily basis and there definitely needs to be more awareness. Out of the wide spectrum of mental health issues, Selective Eating Disorder is incredibly obscure and is often viewed as just picky eating, but it's far from that. I've briefly mentioned it once before, but this time I'm providing a lot more information and detail...

Party In The Nude: HQhair Beauty Bauble

HQhair Party In The Nude Beauty Bauble

Today, the first of my Christmas gifts from me to moi arrived, the HQhair Beauty Bauble! As soon as the absolute babes over at HQhair set this baby to pre-order, it was going straight in my basket. Anyway, nobody wants to listen to the rambling so I'm going for the sneaky details, what's in it?!

Hickory's Smokehouse: Chester

Hickory's Smokehouse Chester

Last week marked mine and Matt's first year together as a couple. To celebrate, after several arguments over where to go, we decided to book a table at Hickory's Smokehouse in Chester. As neither of us had been to any of the Hickory's chain restaurants, we weren't sure what to expect, but we definitely were surprised...

Lush: Blackberry Bath Bomb and Rock Star Soap

Lush Blackberry Bath Bomb and Rockstar Soap

Thanks to the dreaded flu, I haven't been able to write recently, but I'm back! To kick things off, I've been working through my Lush collection whilst feeling sorry for myself so I could get better, so expect plenty of reviews on that beautiful smelling stuff. This time, I'm writing about the Lush Rock Star Soap and the Blackberry Bath Bomb which may I state now, I LOVE them!

Leaving School: College or Work?

Should i go to college or get a job?

Leaving high school is an empowering time, giving you the ultimate freedom to choose the next step in your life. Thousands of colleges offer hundreds of different courses from A-Levels for university or vocational to get you straight into a skilled job after passing. But what if the education system just doesn't suit you? Don't worry, there are other options and despite what others tell you, it's a perfectly valid option. Here's why.

How to Pass Your Driving Theory Test First Time

How To Pass Your Driving Theory Test First Time

One of the biggest milestones in your life is learning to drive. However, as exciting as it may be, it can be really expensive. Alongside the price of weekly lessons and a provisional driver's licence, you also have to pay to sit both parts of the driving test which adds up to a whopping £87! Knowing this, you ideally want to pass your tests first time to avoid paying out even more, but what do you do when you don't want to shell out on revision apps, books and interactive DVD's? Luckily for you, you don't need to pay a penny and still pass first time!

Melt In Your Mouth Experience: York's Chocolate Story

York Chocolate Story

The final bank holiday weekend of the year before Christmas called for one thing: a weekend away with Matt in York. With so many tourist attractions and picturesque sites, it was an easy choice to make and one of the main attractions which caught my eye was York's Chocolate Story. Of course, everyone knows I have a serious sweet tooth so when we were offered a tour around, we couldn't say no and I'm so glad we went! Thinking of going on a guided tour yourself? Here's everything you need to know...

#BeautyMyths: The Budget Edition

Freedom Pro HD Brow Palette and highlighter

Treating yourself to expensive makeup is always fun, until you have two weeks to go until you get paid and a painfully low bank balance... The easiest way to combat this is to purchase cheaper products from different brands but sadly, not all budget options live up to your expectations. When this happens, you find yourself wishing that you just bought your usual go-to beauty product. Hopefully, my reviews will be able to advise people on which products to purchase and make a wise decision! This time, I tried out the Freedom Pro HD Brow Palette and Freedom Pro Highlight Glow.

Miller & Carter Steakhouse Cheshire

Miller & Carter Steakhouse Cheshire

After trying to stop myself from eating out as much (it's so expensive), my terrible willpower caused me to yet again spend more money on food. However, I can get away with it this time as it was for Matt's birthday! Dining here made me realise that it would be a sin not to write about it! Whether you're looking for somewhere to eat as a nice treat or planning a meal for a special occasion, Miller & Carter Steakhouse should definitely be considered an option.

theBalm Nude'Tude Palette

theBalm Nude'tude Palette
Recently I've been suffering with terrible eczema on my eyes and after weeks of suffering, the reason behind it could have been so easily prevented. It turns out that my previous eye shadow palette had gone out of date and was aggravating my already sensitive skin. I immediately threw it out and switched to try out theBalm Nude'Tude palette from HQhair

The Truth Behind Bullying...

the truth behind bullying blog post

Bullying, a topic which is often mentioned but often not fully understood. Recently, a beautiful young girl who was well known in my community lost the fight against bullying and this tragic turn of events has left our town in shock and despair. However, the sad news brought together the entire community to raise money for the family, hold a large and beautiful send-off and ensure that everybody had a shoulder to cry on. One thing which shocked me the most is how the 'anti-bullying policy' which every school claims to uphold still seems to do nothing to help those in need until it is too late. After everything which has happened, inspiration struck to take the time to discuss what is really going on behind closed doors...

Riverside Inn: Cheshire

The Riverside Cheshire Inside

Over the past few months, there's one place which I have been visiting increasingly regularly for food and each time I visit, I'm even more impressed. Not too far from Weaverham there is a little pub called Riverside Inn in Cheshire and what first attracted me to visit was the 2 for 1 offer on all meals (can't say no to free meals!). Anyway, after several visits and no doubt many more, I thought that now is about time to write a good old blog post on it so here goes...

Jeffree Star Velour Liquid Lipstick

Jeffree Star Velour Liquid Lipstick Collection

First of all, apologies for the imperfect photo. I was hoping for a photo of all of my Jeffree Star Velour Liquid Lipsticks all full and brand new, however there was a little bit of shipping difficulty with a few of them so some have been used quite a lot before photography took place... However, now they're all together and I can complete this blog post I've been super excited to write! Check out what I think of these American cruelty-free liquid lipsticks below!

The Cottage Loaf: Llandudno

the cottage loaf llandudno

During my weekend away in Llandudno, I had booked a table months before at a little pub/restaurant called The Cottage Loaf which was situated just around the corner from our hotel, The Wilton (check it out!) I had previously visited The Cottage Loaf twice before and had an overall good experience so I decided to go back. With the brilliant reputation it upholds, it's really important to book a table quite far in advance as all of the tables are always reserved. Anyway, enough of my waffling, it's time to talk about the part you're here for, the food!

The New Inn: Dyserth

the new inn dyserth

Travelling back from Llandudno after our weekend away, a last minute decision ended in us turning down a road to nowhere for a trip to Dyserth Falls. This remote spot in wales has been one of my favourite places to visit for as long as I can remember and the first time I visited, I fell in love. Even better, a little pub is located there called The New Inn and we decided to get some dinner there just after a nice walk around the waterfall. So, what was the food like?

Directions Rose Red Hair Dye

Directions Rose Red Hair Dye

A few weeks back just before my weekend away, I decided to try out a new hair dye and see how bright I could get my unbleached, dark brown hair. After reading up online, the most recommended brand was La Riche Directions so I ordered a colour kit online in colour 'Rose Red'. I had a very different experience with this hair dye from other ones which I have used so thought I would provide a little review on it! Read on to find out more...

The Tribells: Llandudno

The Tribells Llandudno

A few weekends ago, I took a trip down to Llandudno for a Welsh weekend away. I stayed in The Wilton Hotel which you can read all about but this blog post is all about on the Friday when arriving, myself and Matt went for a meal at a small restaurant called The Tribells. It used to be just a fish and chip shop and has established itself over the years. In case you're wondering, that is a giant photograph in the back... we weren't sure when we arrived and we were very convinced that it could be a painting!

The Wilton Hotel: Llandudno

Over the weekend, myself and Matt decided to take trip down to Llandudno for a few days just to have a break away from work and the daily stresses of life. We visited loads of cool places for food and walks and you can find out all about those places on my blog! During this blog post, I'm dedicating it all to the B&B we stayed in - The Wilton

Lush: Fizzbanger and Creamy Candy

lush creamy candy bubble bar

Okay, so I'm not great at figuring out what to write in these introductions but I'm trying my best! As I haven't written about Lush in a while despite the pure amount of products I've used, I thought now might be a good time to keep you guys updated! Most of my shopping trips consist of a Lush haul so I always have new products to try out and blog about, yay! This time, I'm going to be writing about the Fizzbanger bath bomb and the Creamy Candy bubble bar, read on to find out more...

What People Don't Tell You About Taking Fluoxetine

what people don't tell you about taking fluoxetine

After spending a few weeks contemplating whether to write this post, it only confirmed my beliefs that mental health issues need to be discussed due to the awful stigma present within society about anxiety, depression, bipolar and mental health illnesses in general. Sadly, the truth is overlooked that people are out there genuinely suffering and feel unable to discuss their emotions with anyone. The fear of hearing those typical responses; "It's all in your head", "get over it", "people have it worse than you" etc. are always there in the back of the mind. If you're brave enough to reach out (which trust me, it isn't as scary as it sounds, I promise!) and you are offered antidepressants, it is important to know the side effects and general facts which nobody seems to tell you. If I could help at least one person with this blog post then I am extremely grateful for the chance.

Losing a Pet: RIP Smudge

cute brown bunny

March has been incredibly eventful and heartbreaking and unfortunately I haven't had much time to blog. On Tuesday 8th March 2016, my beloved fur baby Smudge was put to sleep due to his health deteriorating overnight, causing him to be weak and unable to stand up. Myself and my mum knew which decision was best for Smudge but it didn't make it any easier...

March 2016: Dechox Challenge

March 2016: Dechox Challenge

Update: You can no longer donate to my JustGiving Page for the Dechox Challenge.

This March, I'm going to be taking part in the 'Dechox Challenge' to raise money for the British Heart Foundation. This means that I can't enjoy any form of my significant other (aka chocolate). No chocolate bars, chocolate biscuits, chocolate chip cookies, hot chocolates etc. for the entirety of March. Everything with any form of chocolate in it must be avoided and this is going to be difficult, especially considering chocolate is a staple food from my diet. I decided to write this post just to explain in a little bit of detail why I chose to take part, also how to sponsor me if you're feeling generous enough!

Top 5 Favourite Albums This Month

favourite albums

Don't you hate it when you get asked 'what's your favourite album?' and all of a sudden, all musical knowledge disappears from your brain, making you sound like a complete doorknob? It's happened to us all, leaving us feeling disappointed in ourselves when it all comes flooding back just a few minutes too late. Just a few days ago, I was put into this exact situation - causing me to have a night in listening to my album collection. Here are some of my favourites!
